As I did not film outside, I did face some problems with brightness in my shots which at times were too dark. With the ‘brightness and contrast’ effect, I was able to correct some of these errors to make these clips have a better resolution.

I was also able to be much more organised with the help of sites like WIX.com where I was able to create an electronic portfolio of my work.

I was able to be on track and had access to my work anywhere as long as I had connection to the internet. This method proved to be much more efficient and cheaper compared to the traditional paper portfolio.

When I had looked at a range of clips and drawn my storyboard, it was much easier for me to create an animatic on Adobe Premiere Pro which enabled me to upload sound and work out the sequence of my shots. This gave me a general picture of how the video would look like. Just relying on the paper version which is the traditional way is clearly phasing out when technologies like these are available to improve film production.

At the level of post-production, I learnt how to export footage from the digital camera from SD card into avi. I became quite skilful with the razor tool which allowed me to cut and crop clips to match the sequence of my shots.

After I had laid all the clips on the time-line, I was then able to work on the different types of transitions such as

I became much more aware of time relations and space by using those effects. Equally, I was able to lower or amplify the volume of my clips to suit the narrative. The fact that I encountered a technical problem with the microphone amplifying the sound made it a lot easier to capture the sound.

I also used the ‘speed duration’ effect to slow down the last two shots of my video which helped in adding suspense.

I cut the clip and made the clip in slow motion. This made the scene look very effective as you were able to see the reaction on his face more clearly.
