One of the SFX I added to my video is the rain effect at the start of the film.This helped to piece together my thriller opening which set the tone. This was a decision which only came about during post production.
At the level of audience feedback, once again technology was really useful. I could compress the movie into mp4 to upload onto YouTube which allowed me to collect feedback from my Facebook friends. This was a much quicker and efficient way of doing this compared to the traditional way of getting people to fill out a paper questionnaire.
For me personally, for film production to run smoothly and for them to have this professional finish, new media technologies have to be used – this has totally wiped out the traditional methods.
Now that we have access to a whole range of technologies with many more to come, film production will become really competitive especially with platforms like YouTube and Vimeo – more and more people are getting the opportunity to showcase their work.
The Random speed lets you choose how fast or slow you want the rain effect to move, making it look like heavy rain or gentle rain.
I played around with the settings to see which effect i liked the best which was the crystals as it looked more realistic and the pixels were small.
And finally, WIX was such an indispensable tool to have as this is what helped me to keep everything in one place. I learnt how to work on a blog and how to create a website. This gave me the opportunity to create pages, import videos, design the pages to suit my concept. To conclude, I do not think I could have produced a film following the correct conventions if these technologies and equipment were not available.
