A lot of supernatural thrillers are set in the house or confined places and by choosing the comfort of a bedroom, I thought I would be able to scare my audience more if the thrill moments happened in the least expected way.

Thrillers are meant to shock and excite and I tried to keep the suspense during the editing phase when I added non-diegetic sound from the clip 'The Grudge' of the child sounding like a cat.

I thought by choosing a character who was young as young as 9 to play along a young adult would not only interest a wider target audience but also create this sense of responsibility and protection as the older one could be said to be watching over the younger one. In fact, the younger one comes across as more confident, challenges stereotypes and would interest the readers.

When the two boys see the person or creature, which I have deliberately decided to exclude and not to show to the audience, was to get the audience guessing and anticipating – once again typical of the genre.

For instance, the audience would already be awaiting for suspense and tension as the genre clearly suggests so but the way I decided to have someone knock on the door of a bedroom when nobody else but them are in the house creates a spookier feeling.
