As for SFX, I added the sound of the rain at the start to set the mood. Normally when it rains it suggests a dull and gloomy weather.
It is typical of thrillers to create that sense of discomfort so by adding the rain effect. This creates a sense of being trapped.
One of the conventions of thrillers is to create the extraordinary in ordinary situations. I thought my narrative had elements which the audience could easily relate to and that are what makes it scarier and exciting for them to watch.
