Editing:
In Thriller films, the most use of editing is jump cuts which help to fill the audience in on what is happening.Transitions such as fade in are common in thrillers as it creates a sense of loss and confusion. Titles in thrillers set the genre. They mostly use different types of fonts to fit the genre of the film.

For example, these quick cuts can be seen in Psycho when she is being stabbed. This makes the assassination faster and makes it more intense.

Sound:
Themes and stings are shown in this era, as the different types of themes, for example jumpy and scary music, played can create different moods and feel for thriller films. Also, diegetic/non diegetic sounds can create tension and make the particular scene very daunting.

For example, in Disturbia, diegetic sound is used when the antagonist hits the guy with a pole. This makes the hitting sound very harsh and makes the audience react to it. Also, in this clip there is lots of diegetic sounds and non-diegetic sounds because they are fighting and smashing everything, the sounds makes it seem more intense and interesting.
